Bathrobes: Necessities or Luxuries?

There are many different types of bathrobes around. They also come in different prices. There are really expensive luxury bathrobes , while there are economical ones, too. But even with such a variety, it seems that not everyone is convinced that bathrobes are necessary. Some people use bathrobes as part of their daily routine, while some think that they are only luxuries.

Bathrobes are often closely associated with luxury because of their rather popular presence in hotels and spas, which are, after all, places that offer luxury and comfort. In some cases, people are tempted to have their own bathrobes at home after experiencing the difference of wearing hotel and spa bathrobes. It makes them feel luxurious and pampered, as if their temporary hotel or spa getaway can be extended by the feel of soft, luxuriant cotton enveloping them. Bath robes, especially the common waffle weave bathrobes often used as a spa robe or the terry cloth robe known as hotel style bathrobes, are connected with the luxurious feel that hotels and spas provide. And since that kind of luxury is not something ordinary people come across with every day, they want to try and bring it home with them through a hotel robe or a spa robe of their own. That’s why some people think that bathrobes are simply luxuries that they are not willing to spend money on. They are like the very experience of going to a hotel or a spa, which not everyone are lucky enough to get much of. People who use bathrobes are sometimes seen as people who are using something completely unnecessary and can be done away with.

However, there are some people who treat bathrobes as necessities. These are the people who find other practical uses for bathrobes and really use them for such purposes. For example, women use women’s bathrobes , not only while taking a bath, but while going through their daily hygienic routines such as shaving legs, blowdrying their hair, putting on makeup, and the likes. The ease of using bathrobes and its loose cover up over the body makes for easy movements while they go about their routines. There are many types of women’s bathrobes for different purposes. Women can use thick terry cloth bathrobes when bathing. These hotel style robes may come in hooded style or shawl collar style, and are made of highly absorbent materials. Aside from that, there are ballerina style bathrobes. These are the shorter, thinner, and lighter bathrobes that women often wear when putting on makeup. A lighter ballerina style bathrobe is less warm than a thick terry bathrobe, and thus, offers more ease as women move about. Women can also use thin but long waffle weave bathrobes for lounging around the house or covering up nightwear before going to sleep. As for men, they also have certain uses for bathrobes. They need kimono bathrobes to cover up their pajamas before sleeping, or luxurious fullsize robes for when they finish taking baths. Those are the situations when bathrobes appear to be an essential part of life.

Some people may find other ways to handle such situations even without bathrobes , but the truth is, bathrobes were created for many purposes. All these uses for bathrobes are very important, and prove that bath robes are indeed necessities, and not just luxuries.
